Concerts for Libraries, Churches and Family Events

Betsy Q  Concerts for Libraries, Churches and Family Events

Betsy Q concerts are upbeat, educational and fun for the entire family. There is audience participation with children coming up on stage at times and she invites a parent or two to come up as well! All of the music that is performed is original (written by Betsy Q). She has 5 cd’s out on the market and her music is used in classrooms and homes across the country. Libraries are using her music, too, and parents have told her that her cd’s, have saved the day more than once. The songs are very catchy and easy to sing along. The songs of Betsy Q. have good positive messages that include songs about self-esteem, making and keeping friends, patriotism, the environment, community helpers, and caring about each other. Some songs are just for fun!!  Betsy Q  has a rap song called “Read A Good Book” that fits right into a  library concert as well

Betsy Q uses a wireless mic so she can dance and move about on stage. On some songs, she plays her electric keyboard and uses a computerized drum machine. The concerts are appropriate for children of all ages… usually up to 5th grade and parents love it too! Her music focuses on rhythm, easy melodies, and repetition and she encourages the audience to sing along and join her with the motions.

Each concert lasts approximately 50 minutes to an hour.  Betsy Q provides her own professional sound system unless the organization is providing a professional sound company to run sound.   She requires about a two hour set up time and about 1 hour to tear down if bringing her own sound system. This is including load in and sound check.

Style Weekly has selected Betsy Q as one of the “Best Entertainers” in Richmond.   With over 35 years of experience, Betsy Q started out as a rock and roll musician and songwriter, performing in venues and colleges up and down the east coast.

She started writing for children when teaching music at CATSCAP, a summer creative arts program at St. Catherine’s school in Richmond,Va.

Her music has been recommended by the American Library Association.
